• Scheveningen Seafood Restaurant

Scheveningen and seafood go together like the sea and the beach. The harbour is just a stone’s throw away, the North Sea stretches out off the coast, and the scent of the sea is always in the air. If there’s anywhere to eat fresh fish and seafood, it’s here.

At Nomon, we honour that tradition. Our menu centres on the bounty of the sea, prepared with respect for the produce and a touch of creativity. From briny oysters to perfectly grilled sea bass, from classic fish soup to surprising combinations you won’t soon forget. This is a seafood restaurant in Scheveningen where the North Sea takes centre stage.

    • Fresh fish and seafood on the Scheveningen coast

Nomon is situated at the end of the promenade, between the dunes and the sea. This location is no coincidence. We want to be close to the source, where the waves break and the fishing boats sail into the harbour. You can taste that connection to the sea in every dish we serve.

Our kitchen uses fresh produce that captures the flavour of the North Sea. The seasons dictate what’s on the menu. The fish is different in summer than in winter, and we adapt accordingly. No frozen compromises, just authentic flavours that reveal their origins. That’s our philosophy: let the produce speak for itself and add only what enhances it.

  • Oysters: our signature classic

If there’s one dish Nomon is known for, it’s oysters. Fresh, briny and with that unmistakable taste of the sea. We serve them the traditional way with a squeeze of lemon, but that’s not all. At Nomon, we dare to experiment.

Try our signature oyster, prepared in a unique way, for a surprising twist on the classic. Each oyster is carefully selected and served at the moment when its flavour is at its best. This is not a side dish, but an experience in its own right.

  • Fish from the Josper grill

At the heart of our open kitchen stands the Josper grill. This Spanish appliance is a cross between a charcoal barbecue and an oven, and reaches temperatures of up to 500 degrees Celsius. The result is fish with a crispy exterior, succulent flesh and a subtle smoky aroma that you won’t find anywhere else.

Sea bass is a favourite amongst our guests. The skin crisps up on the grill whilst the flesh remains tender and full of flavour. Served with crisp samphire and fresh fennel, this is a dish that captures the essence of the sea. The Scheveningen fish soup also deserves a mention: rich, full-bodied and exactly what you want after a walk along the beach.

  • More than just fish

Although seafood takes centre stage at Nomon, our menu offers more than just fish. For those looking for something different, we have dishes that receive just as much attention as our fish classics. The steak tartare is one of the most popular items on the menu: prepared in the traditional way, with just the right balance of flavour and texture.
