At Nomon, it’s all about the experience. Our Josper grill gives meat and fish an unrivalled smoky flavour. The bar captures the sun in your glass with cocktails you won’t find anywhere else. And the best bit? We’re open all year round, from sunrise until late into the night. Not a beach bar that closes when autumn begins, but a destination in its own right for every season.

There are dozens of places to eat in Scheveningen. Beach bars, cafés along the promenade, seafood restaurants in the harbour. What makes Nomon different? It starts with the location. At the far end of the promenade, sheltered by the dunes, where you can pause for a moment. Or not, if you don’t feel like it.
The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting. Think soft materials, lush greenery and a colour palette of sunny hues and wood. The circular bar forms the heart of the restaurant. This isn’t sterile fine dining, but accessible luxury. Familiar dishes presented beautifully, without being pretentious. And whilst beach bars close their doors in autumn, we welcome you even when the North Sea is at its wildest.
Our Open Fire Kitchen with the Josper grill
At the heart of our open kitchen stands a piece of kit you don’t come across every day: the Josper grill. This Spanish appliance combines the intensity of a charcoal barbecue with the precision of an oven. The Josper runs on charcoal and reaches temperatures of up to 500 degrees Celsius. The result? Dishes with a distinctive smoky aroma and a depth of flavour you won’t soon forget.
Our entrecôte is a favourite amongst guests. The meat comes off the grill with a caramelised crust and almost melts in your mouth. For those who want the best of both worlds, the surf ’n’ turf is highly recommended: a combination of meat and seafood that showcases just what the Josper is capable of. And the sea bass? Cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin and tender flesh. The open kitchen means you can watch your dish being prepared. No hidden processes, just transparent craftsmanship.
Seafood and fresh fish from the North Sea
Scheveningen and fish are inextricably linked. The harbour is just a stone’s throw away and the North Sea stretches out right on our doorstep. At Nomon, we honour that tradition with a menu in which seafood takes centre stage. Our oysters are an absolute hit: fresh, briny and perfectly balanced. We serve them plain with a hint of lemon, but also in surprising combinations.
The sea bass from the Josper grill deserves a special mention. The skin is crispy, the flesh tender and full of flavour, served with crunchy samphire and fresh fennel. For those looking for comfort food, the Scheveningen fish soup is an excellent choice. Rich in flavour, packed with fresh fish and shellfish, and exactly what you need after a walk along the beach.
From breakfast until midnight
A restaurant that’s only open in the evenings? That’s not the Nomon way. We believe that good food and a lovely glass of wine belong at any time of day. We serve breakfast from 07:00, with a view of the sea. Lunch offers lighter dishes for those who want to top up their energy levels between meals. From 5.00 pm, the kitchen switches to dinner service, when the Josper grill is in full swing.
Our bar is open daily until 1.00 am. Here, it’s all about cocktails, wines and snacks. Every Friday is Cocktail Friday: all cocktails for just €8.50 from 4.00 pm until closing time. From a classic Espresso Martini to our signature creations. Pair it with a portion of The Hague-style croquettes and you’ve got the perfect start to the weekend.
